Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern Policy

Revista de Pedagogie Digitala is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. This policy describes the procedures for addressing errors and publication ethics breaches identified after publication, in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Corrections (Errata). When errors are identified after publication that do not fundamentally affect the reliability of the findings or conclusions, the journal publishes a formal correction notice. The correction clearly describes the error and the amendment, is permanently linked to the original article in the electronic version, and is published promptly. Authors may request corrections by contacting the journal secretariat at editor@pedagogie-digitala.ro. Corrections are subject to editorial approval.

Retractions. Articles may be retracted when: evidence exists that the findings are unreliable due to research misconduct (fabrication, falsification) or serious error; plagiarism or duplicate publication is discovered; authorship is improperly attributed; research ethics violations occurred; or undisclosed conflicts of interest would have affected the interpretation of results.

Retraction requests may be initiated by authors, editors, institutional authorities, or third parties presenting evidence of misconduct. All retraction requests undergo thorough investigation following COPE guidelines. The retraction notice clearly states the reason for retraction and who initiated it, uses objective and factual language, is published promptly and freely, and is permanently linked to the retracted article. Retracted articles are never removed — the retracted status is clearly indicated in all versions. Retractions are communicated to relevant indexing services and databases.

In cases where only specific sections or data are unreliable, a partial retraction may be issued if the remaining content retains scientific validity.

Expressions of concern. When the journal identifies potential issues with a published article but evidence is insufficient for immediate retraction, an expression of concern may be issued. It is published and linked to the original article and may be followed by correction, retraction, or maintenance depending on investigation outcomes.
