Complaints and Appeals Policy

Revista de Pedagogie Digitala is committed to addressing any complaint or appeal promptly and fairly. This policy applies to complaints regarding published content, the editorial process, the conduct of editorial team members or reviewers, as well as appeals against editorial decisions.

Complaints. Any person may submit a complaint related to the journal’s activities. Complaints should be submitted in writing to editor@pedagogie-digitala.ro, with a clear description of the issue and, where possible, relevant evidence. The journal acknowledges receipt of complaints within five business days. Complaints are investigated by the Editor-in-Chief or, where the complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief, by a designated member of the editorial board or the publishing institution. The journal aims to resolve complaints within 30 days. In complex cases requiring additional investigation, the complainant is informed of the estimated timeline.

Confidentiality is maintained throughout the process to the extent possible.

Appeals against editorial decisions. Authors have the right to appeal an editorial decision of rejection. The appeal must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief (olimpius.istrate@unibuc.ro) and the journal secretariat (editor@pedagogie-digitala.ro) and must contain a detailed justification, addressing the reviewers’ comments point by point and providing new evidence or arguments supporting reconsideration. Appeals based solely on disagreement with reviewer opinions, without substantive new arguments, are not accepted.

The appeal is reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief together with at least one other editorial board member who was not involved in the original decision. Where appropriate, an additional reviewer may be consulted. The decision on the appeal is communicated to the author within 30 days and is final.

Each manuscript may be the subject of only one appeal.

Escalation. If the complainant considers that the complaint has not been resolved satisfactorily, the case may be escalated to the publishing institution (Institute for Education – office@iEdu.ro) or to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
