Revista de Pedagogie Digitala, published by the Institute for Education (Bucharest, Romania), is committed to protecting the personal data of authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and website visitors, in accordance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – Regulation EU 2016/679) and applicable national legislation.

Data controller. The controller of personal data is the Institute for Education, located at 54 Dr. Louis Pasteur str., Bucharest 050536, Romania. Contact: office@iEdu.ro.

Data collected and purpose of processing. The journal collects and processes the following categories of personal data: names, email addresses, academic titles, institutional affiliations, and academic identifiers (ORCID etc.) of authors and co-authors, for the purpose of managing the editorial process, publication, and scholarly communication; names, affiliations, and email addresses of reviewers, for the purpose of managing the peer review process; technical data of website visitors (IP address, browser type, pages accessed), for the purpose of website operation and security.

Legal basis. Processing of authors’ personal data is based on contract performance (the editorial process). Processing of reviewers’ data is based on the journal’s legitimate interest in ensuring quality peer review. Processing of visitors’ technical data is based on the legitimate interest of ensuring website functionality and security.

Data sharing. Authors’ personal data (names, affiliations) are published as part of scholarly articles and are transmitted to indexing services and bibliographic databases. Personal data are not sold, rented, or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes. Data may be shared with service providers assisting in the journal’s operation (web hosting, DOI services), under contractual confidentiality obligations.

Review confidentiality. Reviewer identities are strictly confidential and are not disclosed to authors, other reviewers, or third parties. Manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents.

Retention period. Authors’ personal data published as part of articles are retained permanently as part of the scholarly record. Editorial correspondence data are retained for the period necessary for editorial and archival purposes. Reviewer data are retained for the duration of the collaboration with the journal and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping purposes.

Data subject rights. Under the GDPR, you have the right of access to your personal data, rectification, erasure (except for data published as part of the scholarly record), restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. To exercise these rights, contact: office@iEdu.ro. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).

Security. The journal implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction.

Updates. This policy may be updated periodically. The current version is always available on the journal’s website.
